Narrowly escaping a fall without Vikings football due to declining interest over the past few years, the team is preparing to dominate this season with coach Justin Frausto at the helm.

“Anyone who has played before or is thinking about playing, it would be great to turn out for high school football this year,” said Frausto. “I’m trying to get the word about the team.”

There will be a mandatory team meeting that will include gear distribution in the Orcas Island High School commons on Tuesday, Aug. 16 at 6 p.m. The next day will be the first day of practice will be from 4:40 p.m. – 6:25 p.m.

The Vikings will travel off island for their first game against Darrington on Friday, Sept. 2.
