A public meeting will be held next week to discuss the future of the Orcas transfer station.

Cimarron Trucking and Orcas Recycling Services have both submitted bids to run the facility. The Vendor Selection Committee, appointed by the San Juan County Council, will review follow-up questions it asked the two vendors to address before giving a final recommendation. The meeting is on Friday, Aug. 17 from noon to 4 p.m. at the Eastsound Fire Station.
