In the span of just a few days, Orcas saw two accidents involving young drivers.
On Oct. 5 at 3:35 a.m. EMTs responded to a call from a car crash victim waiting at the Village Green to be treated. He was airlifted to a mainland hospital for a head injury.
The vehicle had rolled over and came to rest on its right side on Enchanted Forest Road. Sheriff Bill Cumming said the cause of the single car accident is still under investigation, and police have been unable to determine if seat belts were being worn. Those in the car included a 16-year-old male, and a 20-year-old named Bradley Stoner of Eastsound. Cumming said it is unknown who was driving.
On Oct. 6, three teens walked away uninjured from a car accident in Deer Harbor. The vehicle rolled over an embankment on Crest Drive. All three were wearing seat belts.
