Tuson-Turner leads youth sailing program

Sail Orcas announces the 15th year of the Orcas Island Junior Sailing Program. Students between the ages of eight and 15 will have the opportunity this summer to learn to sail in a variety of boats and under a variety of conditions. Hannah Tuson-Turner is the lead instructor.

Sail Orcas announces the 15th year of the Orcas Island Junior Sailing Program. Students between the ages of eight and 15 will have the opportunity this summer to learn to sail in a variety of boats and under a variety of conditions. Hannah Tuson-Turner is the lead instructor.

Hannah went through the Junior Sailing program, raced successfully with Orcas High School, and is now sailing competitively for the University of Hawaii. She is a certified USA Sailing Instructor.

Weekly classes are available Mondays-Thursdays and are held at the Orcas Island Yacht Club in West Sound. Beginners will sail 9 a.m. to noon; intermediate and advanced sailors sail 1 to 4 p.m. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis through Orcas Island Recreation Program.
