The Orcas Island Education Foundation has invited local artisans to create art from simple wooden boxes for their “Thinking Outside the Box” project.

OIEF seeks local businesses willing to display these art forms between November 1 and November 17 for the public. Each participating business will receive a master list that describes where all the art boxes are displayed.

“Last year, there was an informal walking tour that was fun and increased foot-traffic to participating businesses,” Lance Evans of Orcas Island Chamber of Commerce said.

The art boxes can be purchased through OIEF’s Eighth Annual Food for Thought benefit auction on November 19.
