‘The Wildfire Project: The Era of Megafires’ on Oct. 12

“The Wildfire Project: The Era of Megafires” is a mixed media presentation created by North 40 Productions and presented by Dr. Paul Hessburg on Wednesday, Oct. 12 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Emmanual Episcopal Church.

It will be a 70-minute, multi-media presentation about the history of wildfire in the west and a discussion about how homeowners and local fire departments can work together to protect communities.

Hessburg is with the Pacific Northwest Research Station in Wenatchee, and the University of Washington, where he has researched wildfire and landscape ecology for more than 27 years. The presented material comes in the form of fast-moving, short, topic-based talks interspersed with video vignettes. Discussion to follow. Admission is free.
