Join the Garden Club for a remarkable program on The Care and Feeding of Orchids featuring orchid hobbyist Robin Becker. Robin claims not to be an expert but she has been growing orchids for the last eight years and does manage to care for more than 225 orchids. For anyone who may be tired of poinsettias at this time of year, the club will have a selection of orchids for sale for holiday decorating needs.

Over the years the Garden Club has provided funds and care for many public spaces on Orcas. The triangles at Fowler’s Corner and at the site of the information sign are maintained by the Garden Club. The club also paid for the beautiful rhododendrons that are alongside the former medical center, now the Lower Tavern. More recently the Club has given money to the Historical Museum to purchase historically appropriate plant materials for the new addition and has provided funds for a new path that will link the school with the Orcas Center.
