Hello Orcas community members! My name is Kaya Osborn and I am a senior at Orcas Island High School. For my senior project, I am coordinating an art show in cooperation with Compass Health that will feature work by local artists for Mental Health Awareness Month.

The theme for the month and the show is “Break the silence, break the stigma.” Displayed with the artwork will be information on mental health and mental health care in order to help spread knowledge, understanding, and resources.

I will need artwork by May 1. If you are interested in submitting artwork or have questions, please contact me at my school email kosborn@orcas.k12.wa.us. Pieces can be displayed in the show with the artist’s name or anonymously, at the artist’s discretion. Also, please keep in mind that the artwork will be displayed in a public location, and that artwork needs to be kept family friendly and appropriate.
