San Juan County Sheriff’s Department reported responding to these calls:

April 15: Expired tags and lack of a working headlight prompted an early afternoon traffic stop and arrest of a Lopez Island woman for driving with a suspended license. The 32-year-old, who was pulled over in the 400 block of Lopez Road at about 1 p.m., was also ticketed for riding a motorcycle without the required endorsement.

April 16: A bathing suit dangling from a Lopez Island tree prompted a report of a possible theft from a mailbox in the 200 block of Towhee Lane. The bathing suit, Land’s End merchandise and valued at $90, had reportedly been paid for and delivered to a Towhee Lane home several days before it was found hanging in the tree.

April 18: Failure to use a turn signal prompted a pair of tickets for Orcas Island woman following a traffic stop in mid-afternoon. The 21-year-old, who was pulled over near the intersection of Mount Baker and North Beach roads at about 3:30 p.m., was ticketed for driving without a license and for failing to use a turn signal.

April 21: A 53-year-old Orcas Island man who reportedly is homeless was arrested in Friday Harbor for urinating in the bushes behind a downtown convenience store. The man, reportedly from the Olga area, was taken into custody at about 5 p.m. and charged with creating a public nuisance and depositing a unwholesome substance.

April 22: Left on a counter of an Orcas Island pharmacy, a gold bracelet valued at $1,000 was turned over to authorities after it remained unclaimed for nearly a month. It’s reportedly engraved with a Hawaiian phrase.

April 23: A 19-year-old Lopez Island man was arrested on alcohol-related charges after he reportedly was seen staggering along Fisherman Bay Road near Pickering Lane in late afternoon. Taken into custody at about 5:30 p.m., he was charged being a minor in possession of alcohol.
