At their April 10 meeting, Eastsound Sewer and Water District Superintendent Roy Light said that the Determination of Non-Significance (DNS) is prepared for the annexation of Orcas Village and a public hearing will probably take place early in May.
The ESWD engineering plan for capital facilities, which is being updated by Wilson Engineering in Bellingham, is expected to be ready within about 10 days, the Commissioners said.
Commissioner Ed Sutton wanted the report to state that ESWD can operate in a manner financially independent of tax monies and grants. “In a six-year financial period we have no anticipation of needing funds from any [outside] source.”
