Oct. 19

• An unknown subject removed a pair of sunglasses from a ferry worker’s vehicle. The vehicle was parked in front of the Friday Harbor ferry terminal and was unlocked.

• Staff from the San Juan Island Library contacted the sheriff’s office to have an unruly subject removed from the property.

• A deputy spoke with a Lopez Island resident regarding a theft complaint. The reporting person stated someone removed keys from her unlocked parked car after she left it in Lopez Village. The keys were subsequently returned to her by an unidentified person.

• A Lopez deputy received a traffic complaint. The reporting person stated a vehicle aggressively tail-gated his vehicle on Mud Bay Road while he was teaching his teenage son to drive. The suspect driver was identified, and he wrote an apology letter to the reporting person.

Oct. 20

• A Friday Harbor resident was served a temporary order of protection and violated the order within moments of being served.

Oct. 21

• Lopez deputies responded to a reported domestic disturbance call. They found no probable cause for a crime.

• An Orcas deputy pulled over a known driver who has a suspended driver’s license. The driver had no proof of insurance and the vehicle registration was expired. He was cited and his vehicle was towed.

• Deputies were dispatched to a welfare check of an Eastsound resident. The person appeared to be fine and not in any danger to herself or others.

Oct. 21

• Two Lopez Island kids was referred to juvenile authorities for being minors in possession of alcohol at the homecoming dance.

Oct. 23

• Deputies were dispatched to a residence on San Juan Island for a possible domestic assault. A male subject was arrested.

Oct. 24

• An Orcas driver was pulled over for going 45 mph is a posted 35 mph zone. The driver admitted that he didn’t have insurance and was cited.

Oct. 25

• A deputy initiated a traffic stop in Friday Harbor and cited the driver for driving while suspended in the three degree. The driver was released with a promise to appear in court.

• A deputy was dispatched to a possible order violation in Friday Harbor. It was found there was not enough evidence to arrest the respondent for a violation.

• A deputy was dispatched to a report of vandalism in the Eastsound area. Deputies conducted an initial investigation.

• A deputy was dispatched to an agency assist at an Eastsound business. The deputy conducted an initial investigation.

• A deputy observed a vehicle speeding on Crescent Beach Road on Orcas. The driver was cited for speeding.

• A Lopez Island deputy was sent to investigate an incomplete 911 call. After contacting all residents on the property, no problem was discovered. No one admitted calling 911.
