Anglers from Orcas and beyond came to reel in their limit at Cascade Lake last Saturday during the Bill Yarlott Kids Fishing Derby at Moran State Park. Rangers counted 24 boats out on the water throughout the morning and there were 22 youngsters who entered fish in the contest. Most anglers were catching rainbow trout and cutthroat, but a few experienced fishermen pulled in some kokanee as well. Kids under 15 could enter any type of fish caught in the lake, and this year the first place honor went to Race Rousar, who pulled in a 41.25 cm rainbow trout. Second place was close behind with a 41 cm rainbow caught by Nathan Vekved, and third place went to Dawson Chaput, who reeled in a 38.5 cm rainbow.
