Monday, Feb. 9

Housing Bank Commission Regular Meeting, 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., Health & Community Services Conference Room, 145 Rhone St., Friday Harbor.

Friday, Feb. 13

The San Juan County Land Bank Commission will meet from 8:30 to 11:20 a.m. in the Conference Room, Whidbey Island Bank 535 Market Street, Friday Harbor.

Thursday, Feb. 19

The next Critical Areas Ordinance Review Committee meeting will be from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Islanders Bank Annex, 225 Blair Ave., Friday Harbor. Agenda includes presentation by Paul Anderson, Department of Ecology, on Critical Area requirements related to wetlands.

Monday, Feb. 23

There will be a public disclosure forum hosted jointly by San Juan County and the Town of Friday Harbor. Topics include the Open Public Meeting Act (OPMA), Appearance of Fairness Doctrine, Public Records, Record Retention, and other important information for public agencies. This free workshop is open to the public; reservations are strongly encouraged. The times are: 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., San Juan County Legislative Hearing Room, 55 Second Street and 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Fire District #3 Training Room, 1011 Mullis Street. The OPALCO Board of Directors has set the date for its 2009 Annual Meeting. In compliance with the cooperative’s by-laws, between 2/15/09 and 3/18/09, the directors will appoint a committee consisting of three to five OPALCO members from Voting District 2 (Orcas, Armitage, Big Double, Blakely, Fawn, Little Double, and Obstruction Islands). This committee will nominate from two to five members and prepare a list of director candidates to be posted in the lobby at the Eastsound office no later than 3/17/09. Any fifteen or more members from District 2 may make other nominations with a signed petition filed at the Eastsound office no later than 4/1/09.
