The Board agreed to meet during the summer to look into new plans for Friday night rollerskating, afterschool academic programming, and discussed continuing on next year with the successful events from this year, including the Enrichment Fair, children’s book week, family reading night and book fair, math & science night and topical forums such as legislative advocacy, and the Anti-Bullying Forum and Assembly recently held. Hospitality for school events; the new family and kindergarten welcome tea on the first day of school, back to school barbecue, faculty and staff appreciation luncheons, event hosting such as the Orcas Center Children’s art opening reception and others are an important aspect of the ambassadorship for the school that PTSA provides. There will be a major recruitment drive for new and continuing members in the fall to assist in providing these services to the public school.
