The Writer’s Roundtable on Saturday, July 12 will feature a special presentation by Orcas writer Jill Johnson on “The Universal Language of Justice in Fiction.”

Using Flannery O’Connor’s story “Good Country People” as the basis for the discussion, the writing group will explore three questions:

1. How the human brain hardwires readers to expect justice.

2. Should we as writers meet that expectation?

3. Can justice bridge the cultural differences between writers and readers?

All are welcome, says group coordinator JoEllen Moldoff. The group meets on the second Saturday of each month from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Orcas Library.
