Orcas School teacher awarded scholarship

Linda Slone, PSE member employed by the Orcas Island School District received a $500 scholarship from Public School Employees of Washington/SEIU 1948 (PSE).

Dave Douglass, chair of PSE’s scholarship committee, complimented Slone for her success.

“With this scholarship, PSE and its 27,000 members are pleased to help Linda reach her academic goals,” Douglass said.

Slone plans to attend University of Washington Extension.

PSE/SEIU 1948 is a labor union dedicated exclusively to representing classified educational support professionals in K-12 public schools and universities. Each school year PSE awards $5,000 in scholarships to PSE/SEIU 1948 members.
