The Orcas Island Lions Club recently delivered several refurbished wheelchairs and walkers to the Orcas Senior Center to support the center’s loan program. The Senior Center makes this equipment (and other mobility assistance devices) available for no-charge loan to any islander who has mobility issues.

Working closely with the Orcas Senior Center, the Orcas Island Lions Club plans to maintain an ongoing inventory of mobility assistance equipment to support the center’s loan program. The Lions Club is undertaking this ongoing effort with the generous assistance of one of its fellow clubs, the Bellingham Central Lions Club, which operates a “Wheelchair Warehouse.”

Interested islanders should contact the Orcas Senior Center if they have need for a wheelchair, walker, cane or other mobility assistance equipment.
