Orcas Library presents Karl Marlantes in hybrid event

Orcas Island Library is offering a hybrid author event with Karl Marlantes on the library’s south lawn and zoom on Sept. 9 at 6 p.m.

Hailing from the Pacific Northwest, Marlantes is a New York Times-bestselling author of “Matterhorn” and “What It Is Like to Go to War.” He is coming to the library to discuss his new award-winning novel “Deep River,” a rich family saga about Finnish immigrants who settle and tame the Pacific Northwest, set against the early labor movements, World War I and the upheaval of early 20th-century America.

To attend in-person, RSVP to cdapogny@orcaslibrary.org. To attend by Zoom, register at: https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZYlcuqurjIjHNfIMHmNpr0tOhklZjOtAvuU
