The Orcas Island Board of Fire Commissioners requests your input!

On Dec. 2, OIFR commissioners discussed potential processes for hiring our next permanent fire chief. As a part of this important work, the board would like community input on the search process, and the characteristics and experience needed in our next chief.

You can share your thoughts by providing public comment at the following events in person at Station 21 or on Zoom (additional opportunities will be determined at a later date): Dec. 16 at 3 p.m. at the start of the regular board meeting, or on Dec. 16 at 5:30 p.m. during a second public comment period dedicated to the fire chief search.
