Orcas Fire and Rescue participates in stairclimb

Orcas Fire and Rescue volunteers have raised $6,427 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society during the 28th annual LLS Firefighter Stairclimb event in Seattle on Sunday, March 10. Donations are still being accepted through April 18 at http://www.llswa.org/. The 2019 climb has raised more than $2.4 million to help fight blood cancer. This event is the largest on-air firefighter stairclimb in the world.

More than 2,000 career and volunteer firefighters participated. Orcas Fire members who climbed were firefighters and EMTs Alexander Conrad, Sam Fowler, Mac McCorison, Tony Simpson and paramedic Kasey Jo Weigley. They were assisted by recruit LaRen Rossie.
