Orcas Family Health Center approved to give COVID vaccination

Submitted by Orcas Family Health Center.

Orcas Family Health Center has been approved by Washington State to provide the Moderna COVID vaccine. We do not know when we will receive an allotment although we will order our first quantity of doses as soon as that function is available to us. All providers are required to follow the state’s timeframes for the different phases of the population to vaccinate and the state DOH is evaluating vaccine requests and adjusting them based on their determination of need. Please see the county and state DOH websites for the most current information.

To determine when you are eligible for COVID vaccination, use the WA State Phase Finder tool. After you answer a series of questions, you will receive the result of either “yes you qualify in this phase” or “you are not qualified in this phase.” If you are eligible, take a picture of your result or print the screenshot and call your primary care provider to schedule your vaccination. OFHC will schedule eligible patients when we have the vaccine in hand. If you are eligible and we do not have the vaccine yet, we will get your information and call to schedule when the vaccine is received. If you are not yet eligible, the Phase Finder tool has an option to enter your information for the state to contact you, or you can check back at any time.

The Phase Finder tool will be live on Jan. 18 and can be found at www.doh.wa.gov/. There will be a link on the OFHC website COVID info page. There is no charge for the vaccine itself; there is a charge for the administration. The eligibility confirmation page is required to receive the vaccination.
