Old coins and jewelry disappear from Orcas home

The San Juan County Sheriff’s office just had a theft reported that occurred on Orcas a month ago. Among the items: old coins and vintage jewelry.

Sgt. Steve Vierthaler would like to know if anyone attempts to spend the following items: three “books” of Mercury Head dimes, 10 proof sets of miscellaneous U.S. coins, including .50 cent, .25 cent, dimes, nickels and pennies, approximately 25 “Liberty” silver dollars, and 40 to 50 $2 bills, circa 1934. Also stolen was a large quantity of jewelry, including jade and gold pendants, jade bangles, a lavender jade ring, and vintage costume jewelry.
