Odds of seeing Barefoot Bandit are better online

The best place to watch the Island County trial of Colton Harris-Moore this Friday may well be online, says the South Whidbey Record writer Jessie Stensland. A "media circus" is expected, to include reporters from the New York Times, Reuters, the Associated Press, the Seattle Times and other local newspapers; major TV networks like NBC’s Dateline and possibly CBS’s 48 Hours; and possibly a German news magazine.

The best place to watch the Island County trial of Colton Harris-Moore this Friday may well be online, says the South Whidbey Record writer Jessie Stensland.

A “media circus” is expected, to include reporters from the New York Times, Reuters, the Associated Press, the Seattle Times and other local newspapers; major TV networks like NBC’s Dateline and possibly CBS’s 48 Hours; and possibly a German news magazine.

According to Stensland, Island County detective Ed Wallace has said that all 145 seats in the courtroom will probably be taken up by reporters, victims and lawyer – and the odds of catching a glimpse of Harris-Moore are “slim.”

The trial will be webcast live at www.islandcounty.net.

Officials are closing off the streets within a two-block radius surrounding the Island County courthouse in expectation of perhaps hundreds of curious onlookers crowding the area.
