Students in grades K-8 at Orcas Christian School held a celebratory Chinese meal and program to culminate their study of China on Thursday, Oct. 17

The students began the school year learning about the 2008 Summer Olympics held in Beijing and then delved into Chinese geography, history, culture, government, and arts.

At the celebration, student presentations were made, projects exhibited, and tai chi demonstrated. During art class, students created a dragon, and that evening the younger students paraded this long creature around the room. A meal of egg drop soup, chow fun noodles, egg fu yung, fried rice, egg rolls and fortune cookies was enjoyed by all.
