OC announces changes to Loudin’s Art Sale

Due to the concerns about gathering in person during the uptick in COVID19 cases, Orcas Center is postponing Frank Loudin’s in-person art sale and auction – originally scheduled for Friday, August 27 – While we create a virtual tour of Frank’s incredible paintings, narrated by the man himself.

The Visual Arts Committee at Orcas Center will be hanging more than 70 of Frank’s original watercolors in time for the Jazz Festival over Labor Day weekend. Islanders will have the opportunity to view the paintings in person throughout the festival and during Orcas Center’s business hours.

When the virtual tour has been created, a new sale date and auction timeframe will be determined, giving Islanders a chance to view the show, hear Frank’s stories, buy direct or bid on pieces, all without leaving their home. As variant cases decrease on the island, we look forward to having a closing party to properly celebrate Frank and his work and helping his beautiful art find new homes.

Stay well and stay tuned for more information as Orcas Center and the Visual Arts Committee embark on this new exciting adventure of making local artists’ work accessible to Islanders and beyond!
