TEDxOrcasIsland is bringing 14 speakers and musicians to the Orcas Center Stage on March 5. Here is a sampling of the speakers.
Chicago Bear tight end Martellus Bennett is 28 years old. He has been playing professional football since the age of twenty. Marty is a successful artist, animator and published children’s author, as well. Developing his creativity has been as important as developing his athletic abilities.
Deborah Parker is a former Vice Chairwoman of the Tulalip Tribes. She is of Tulalip, Apache and Yaqui ancestry. She has served for many years as a motivational speaker, educator and activist. Most notably, Parker helped the passage of the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) in 2013.
Hilary V. Bricken is a partner at Harris Moure, PLLC in Seattle. Licensed to practice law in Washington, California, and Florida, she is one of the premier cannabis business and regulatory attorneys in the United States.
The last three years have been a whirlwind for Mike “The Wanz” Wansley and much of it a musician’s dream come true. It started inside a recording studio, where Macklemore and Lewis invited Wansley to record the “Thrift Shop” chorus one fateful evening in Seattle. The musician now works at Tableau Software as a quality-assurance engineer.
