Midnight Earthquake shakes the San Juans

USGS is reporting an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.8 struck 11 miles northeast of Victoria, BC.

USGS is reporting an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.8 struck 11 miles northeast of Victoria, BC Tuesday, Dec. 29, at 11:39 p.m. No tsunami alerts were issued following the quake. No injuries or property damage has been reported.

As of 4:30 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, 94 reports of feeling the earthquake were submitted to USGS from Orcas Island, 46 on Lopez and 284 in Friday Harbor. Reports were made from as far south as Olympia, Wash.
