Major need for blood donors

Bloodworks Northwest is asking for your help! Due to the icy conditions, four high schools in Western Washington had to cancel their blood drives over the last week and a half due to school closures. These were some of the largest high schools and Bloodworks Northwest is dealing with a loss of over 400 blood donations that they expected to collect. This is a huge loss and will greatly impact the already-low community blood supply. They are asking for the assistance of community blood donors to help recover from this loss.

San Juan Island Blood Drive: Wednesday, March 14, noon to 6 p.m., Mullis Community Senior Center.

Orcas Island Blood Drive: Thursday, March 15, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Eastsound Fire Station.

Lopez Island Blood Drive: Friday, March 16, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., closed from 1:30 to 2:30, Community Church in the Village.
