Learn about “Global Warming and Elections 2008; What are the Candidates
Telling Us and What Do We Need to Know” at a special meeting sponsored by
the League of Women Voters Saturday, April 26.
Economist and international educator Dr. Edwin Dolan is the featured
speaker. The session will be held at the Friday Harbor Middle School
Commons from 1 to 3 p.m.
The event is free, and the public is invited.
Dr. Dolan most recently taught a class at Skagit Valley College on The
Economics of Global Warming. This year he will teach courses on Money,
Banking and Monetary Policy and Micro and Macroeconomics in Prague, Czech
Republic; Riga, Latvia, and Tallinn, Estonia.
He has taught previously at Dartmouth, University of Chicago and George
Mason University in the United States and at institutions in Bulgaria,
Croatia, Budapest and Moscow and has worked for USAID as an economic
advisor in Kazakstan. He has also had U.S. government experience with the
Interstate Commerce Commission and Department of Justice.
Dr. Dolan holds a PhD. from Yale University and masters’ and bachelor’s
degrees from Indiana University. He is the author of a number of texts on
economics and public policy.
