Ana Ledgerwood of Orcas has received the Arthur Ellis Hamm Prize for academic performance at Smith College in Northampton, Mass. The award, given annually to honor members of the sophomore class with the highest academic average for the previous year, was announced at Smith’s Opening Convocation on Sept. 3. Nine students received the award out of about 650 in the class of 2017.
