Back by popular demand, James Lee Stanley will perform in concert at The Trading Company in Eastsound on Friday, June 13 at 7:30 p.m.

The Trading Company was packed and abuzz with delighted listeners when James performed there last October. This time, weather permitting, the concert will take place on the deck behind the shop. The public is invited to bring blankets or lawn chairs and a picnic dinner.

James Lee Stanley’s songs unite the unpredictable creativity and eclectic elements that make up his world, ranging from the romantic and beautiful to the rhythmic and stirring. James is a uniquely gifted guitarist, vocalist and composer. His six-string guitar sounds like a symphony and his between-song banter is hilarious.

Fi Magazine listed his album “Freelance Human Being” as one of the finest recordings of 1998 and one of the Top 200 Recordings of all time. James was recording for LeGrand Records at the age of 14. He has performed with Bonnie Raitt, Robin Williams, Chick Corea, and Bill Cosby.

Orcas’ own Parking Angels will do a short opening set. James will be joined on a couple of songs by Orcas’ operatic fiddler Sharon Abreu. “If you missed James before, now’s your chance to catch him!” says Abreu.

Admission is $10. Inquire about tickets at The Trading Company (corner of Prune Alley & School St.). “If it rains, seating will be limited so inquire early!” says Abreu.
