Island Sinfonia resumes rehearsal

Island Sinfonia, under the leadership of Jim Shaffer-Bauck has begun rehearsals this fall. Sinfonia, the community orchestra of the San Juan Islands, rehearses at the Orcas school band room from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Concerts begin in the spring with the school benefit concert for the Orcas schools on March 5, 2017 and end with the concert at Orcas Center on May 21. Concerts on Shaw, Lopez and San Juan island will also be scheduled during the spring.

The orchestra is open to musicians of all ages, from students to senior citizens, who enjoy playing music together. They especially need string players.
