Gerri Haynes will be speaking on “Iraq Today,” Sunday, June 1, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Orcas Senior Center.

Gerri has made annual trips to the Middle East since 1993, organizing and leading citizen diplomacy trips to Israel and to Iraq. She recently helped organize and was part of an United Nations Association delegation of eight doctors and nurses who visited Syrian citizens and Iraqi refugees in Syria in Damascus, Saydnaya, and Aleppo to check on the conditions for Iraqi refugees.

Gerri Haynes is a Palliative Care Consultant and Grief and Bereavement Educator, board member and past president of the Washington Physicians for Social Responsibility, and board member of UNA-Seattle. Her presentation will include a slide show and personal stories.
