Housing Solutions, a coalition of affordable housing advocates in conjunction with the town of Friday Harbor and representatives from San Juan County, will hold a town hall meeting on May 25 entitled “Island Housing Solutions: A Community Conversation.”

The group invites community members to attend and discuss questions like “Is there really an affordability problem?”; “What are the implications for you and the community?”; “How will local business, workers and our economy be impacted?”; and “What can be done about it?”

Housing Solutions is focusing its affordable planning efforts on the three urban growth areas on Orcas, Lopez and San Juan islands.

The meeting will be held Wednesday, May 25 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Orcas Senior Center.

“Join the discussion, explore possible solutions and have your opinions heard with electronic polling!” organizers say.
