The Orcas Island Historical Museum will kick off the summer season with a “Season Opening Party” on Friday, May 27 from 4 to 6 p.m.  Live music, finger food, refreshments and a few surprises will be offered, with festivities taking place both indoors and outdoors if weather permits.

Come see the first public showing of the museum’s replica of their ancient Bison Antiquus skull, as well as an exhibit showcasing the heyday of Orcas Resorts circa 1920s through 1950s, and illustrated excerpts from islander’s oral histories done by Nancy Knapp’s 4th/5th grade class. If you ordered an engraved brick last year for the new entrance walkway, the bricks are now installed and you’ll be able to see your words immortalized. During the party admission to the museum will be free to all (it’s always free to members).
