Saturday, Oct. 31

• Fire pits, cider and treats will be all around town courtesy of the Chamber of Commerce

• Island Market Pumpkin Carving Contest. Win a $100 gift card! Submit your photo on their Facebook or Instagram page with the category of 12/under or 13/over. Winner will be chosen Oct. 31.

• 2 to 5 P.M.: Pumpkin carving, Brown Bear Baking

• 3 to 4 P.M.: Spooky stories at Darvill’s Bookstore

• 3 to 5 P.M.: Trick or treating in Eastsound and OPAL communities

• 3:30 to 5 P.M. Labyrinth walk at Emmanuel Parish

• 4 to 6 P.M.: Halloween party for kids at Odd Fellows Hall, face painting, games, music, hot spiced cider and treats.

• 6 P.M.: Spanish Eucharist to celebrate the Eve of All Saints or Todos los Santos. The Latino community will erect a traditional altar of the Day of the Dead. People are invited to bring a small photo of a deceased loved one to place at the altar and/or an image of your favorite saint to Emmanuel Episcopal Church.

• 6 to 8 P.M.: Fall carnival at Orcas Island Community Church. This free event will include fun activities and games with chances to win candy and prizes. There will be hot apple cider, popcorn, cheesy nachos and cotton candy.

• 7 to 8:15 P.M.: Monster movie at Odd Fellows Hall

• 8:30 to midnight: Halloween dance at Odd Fellows Hall

Sunday, Nov. 1

• 8 A.M. and 10 A.M.: Eucharists of the Day of All Saints, Emmanuel Episcopal Church.

Suzanne Olson is leading a “Dia de los Muertos” event at Benson Hall – Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 11:30 a.m. All are invited to bring a photo of a loved one who has passed. They will make an altar and share bocadillos about their muertos queridos. A potluck will follow at 12:30 p.m. in Benson Hall. Bring finger food to share.

Monday, Nov. 2

• 6 P.M.: Bilingual Evening Prayer to celebrate the day of the Faithful Departed or All Souls Day, Emmanuel Episcopal Church.

• 7 P.M.: Emmanuel will be showing at the parish hall the 2014 animated film “Book of Life,” directed by Jorge Gutierrez. This film is classified PG. This is a free film and all are welcome.
