Friday Harbor Lab’s Bob Schwartzberg to teach “Fundraising School”

Bob Schwartzberg, University of Washington Director of Development, Friday Harbor Laboratories, will conduct a two-day training session on fundraising for non-profit organizations at Skagit Valley College, Nov. 5 and 6.

Bob Schwartzberg, University of Washington Director of Development, Friday Harbor Laboratories, will conduct a two-day training session on fundraising for non-profit organizations at Skagit Valley College, Nov. 5 and 6.

Schwartzberg is the former development director for the National Crime Prevention Council. He has more than 25 years of experience in fundraising with both large and small organizations.

Skagit Valley College Business and Community Development, in partnership with the Anacortes and Mount Vernon Chambers of Commerce, are hosting the Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University’s “Fundraising School” for nonprofit organizations. Staff and volunteers who attend this course will learn how to: build a convincing case for financial support, select donors and markets best suited to their nonprofit, choose the right fundraising vehicles for their organization, inspire the leadership potential of volunteers and create a fundraising process that works and is attainable with limited resources.
