Tickets are still available for the Orcas Island Education Foundation Food for Thought Benefit for our public schools.

Organizers say the May 19 event at Rosario’s Discovery House promises to “egg-ceed your egg-spectations.”

“Starting at 6 p.m., you will be able to take in the sunset and casually roam among a dazzling array of incredible egg-art: some elegant, some whimsical and some unbelievable,” they say.

The feast will be prepared and served by the winners of this year’s Student Chef Competition: Arla Sutton, Millie Lau, Ray Doss, Keenan O’Brian and Sayde Larson, along with additional fare from Inn at Ship Bay, Red Rabbit Farm and Cafe Olga.

The event is OIEF’s primary fundraiser to help support public school programs such as the Arts Education Initiative, wood shop, all-day kindergarten, several advanced placement programs and numerous other classes not funded by other sources.

Attendees can bid on live or silent auction items or just come enjoy the dinner. Tickets are $65, available at the Orcas Island Chamber of Commerce office, Darvill’s Bookstore, the Elementary School office and at the door.

Free childcare will be available at the event; call 376-4376 to arrange.
