Anti-Bullying Assemblies featuring James Warren, sponsored by Orcas PTSA and OIEF. The elementary-age assembly will be from 10:30-11:15 a.m. The middle/high school assembly will be from 1:15 to 2 p.m.

Sustainable Orcas Island meets at the Orcas Island Public Library, 5:30 to 7 p.m. Main projects and topics of discussion revolve around community resiliency, cooperation, and sustainability in the face of economic and other changes. Kindergarten “Backpack” Dinner at 5:30 p.m. at the Senior Center. For all island children who are going to start kindergarten in the fall. We will eat dinner, then the children and parents will participate in fun activities that are linked with an item that will be in their backpack that they get to take home with them to explore over the summer.

Open Mic Pizza Night at Doe Bay Resort. A weekly benefit for a different nonprofit organization each month – Orcas Island Recreation Program in May. 6 to 10 p.m., with open mic starting between 7 and 8 p.m.
