Driver hits flagger, vehicles in downtown Friday Harbor

At about 7:15 a.m., Friday, Oct. 5, a vehicle, driven by a Friday Harbor woman, struck a flagger on the Mike Carson Construction crew at the roundabout in downtown Friday Harbor.

After striking the flagger, the vehicle continued on, striking numerous other vehicles in the downtown core until the driver was stopped and subdued by the construction crew.

Deputies arrived on scene shortly thereafter and took the female into custody. She was booked into the jail for vehicular assault and hit and run with injury.

The flagger was transported to the Peace Island Medical Center for treatment.
