COVID vaccine registration 9 a.m., March 8

Submitted by San Juan County.

San Juan County Health and Community Services will be opening registration for a very limited number of first-dose vaccine appointments at 9 a.m. on Monday, March 8.

Registration is for the following dates and locations:

• San Juan Island on Tuesday, March 9; 50 slots available.

• Orcfas Island on Friday, March 12; 40 slots available.

Those who are eligible and wishing to register for an appointment should go to https://www.sanjuanco.com/1737/COVID-Vaccine-Info at 9 a.m. on Monday, March 8. There will be two links clearly marked for each clinic. At the moment, Phase 1a and Phase 1b Tier 1 are eligible for vaccination.

The links will be shown in the “STEP 2” section, highlighted in orange.

In addition to the healthcare workers eligible in Phase 1a, Phase 1b Tier 1 includes:

• All people 65 years and older

• People 50 years and older in multigenerational households

• Workers in child care settings

• Pre-kindergarten through 12th-grade educators and staff

Full eligibility details are available at https://www.doh.wa.gov/Portals/1/Documents/1600/coronavirus/SummaryInterimVaccineAllocationPriortization.pdf.

Please note that that the registration system has been upgraded. You will now choose a slot at the beginning of registration and then be given 15 minutes to complete your registration. If there are no appointments left, it will be clearly shown at the beginning of the process. Hopefully, this will help to address some of the challenges of earlier registration windows.
