The Washington State Democratic Party passed a resolution calling on federal legislators from Washington state to oppose further funding for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and to take leadership to bring troops and tax dollars home. The resolution, written and passed by the San Juan County Democrats on March 19, was approved without objection by the 40th Legislative District Democrats on March 27 and by the Washington State Democrats on April 30. Sharon Abreu and Rena Patty, precinct committee officers for the SJC Democratic Party, will host a Conversation Café about the cost of war on May 18, 6:30-8:30 p.m., Orcas Senior Center.
