Chris MacDonald, who lived on Orcas from 1977 to 1987, dies in a motorcycle accident.

Services will be held on Wednesday, July 23rd, at 6 p.m. at the Bowl and Pitcher picnic site at Riverside State Park, Spokane WA.

Christopher David MacDonald, 37, beloved son, brother, nephew, and friend died on July 17, 2008 in Spokane, Washington. Christopher died unexpectedly as a result of a tragic motorcycle accident in Spokane, Washington. He is survived by his mother, Patty MacDonald, Los Angeles, CA; father, Pat MacDonald, Bellingham, WA, and Gail MacDonald also from Bellingham, WA; sister, Marni Cole; family and beloved friends, uncles, Bruce MacDonald, Thousand Oaks, CA; Denny MacDonald, Maui, Hawaii; Don Ellis, West Hartford, CT; extended family and friends, Kristin McRoberts, Karen Beyard, Allie and David Ellis, Sheri Ellis, Patrick Cole.

Chris was a kind and loving person. Riding his motorcycle and camping were his joy, and where he found peace. Chris was an advocate of motorcycle safety and an avid and experienced rider. His nature was loving and he made many friends along the way. He was known for his contagious smile and congenial manner. Chris rode with motorcycle groups and was committed to promoting safety and enjoyed writing about his experiences. He especially looked forward to the adventure and solitude of his long motorcycle trips. He had a sense of humor and a keen intellect. Chris’s death is heartbreaking and he will be missed deeply by all who were touched by him.

Chris lived on Orcas and attended Orcas School from 1977 to 1987.

There will be an open memorial service for Chris on Wednesday, July 23rd, at 6:00 PM at the Bowl and Pitcher picnic site at Riverside State Park, Spokane WA.
