This much awaited, must see, sell-out event of the year is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 6 at Orcas Center starting at 6:30 p.m.

Talented local performers (individuals or duos) return for this hit show, which is a lighthearted, feel good version of American Idol.

The always-supportive audience gets to choose the next Orcas Idol by voting for their favorite singer by secret ballot as they perform either karaoke style, a capella or new for this year, singers may accompany themselves. The show is great community fun spiced with the humor of the colorful masters of ceremonies and judges.

The winner will receive a $200 cash prize, donated by Radio Shack, and a professional recording session. Each year the show benefits the Orcas Island Prevention Partnership, which has been actively promoting a safe and healthy community free of substance abuse for the last nine years.

The show is open to all islanders who love to sing and perform. Sign ups for the auditions will be held at the Funhouse on Jan. 6 from 3 to 6: 30 p.m. Singers may select songs from the karaoke disc library, bring their own disc, or perform with an nstrument.
