tOrcas Center to present play in April
All are invited to audition for “A Year With Frog and Toad,” which will be directed by Deborah Sparks, with musical direction by Ron Myers.
Auditions are on Sunday, Jan. 25, from 5 to 7 p.m. or Monday, Jan. 26, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the OffCenter of Orcas Center.
The production will run for eight performances at the center: April 15, 16, 17, 18 (matinee), 22, 23, 24, and 25. Rehearsals will begin February 16.
A perusal copy of the script and a CD of this Tony Award-winning musical may be borrowed from the Orcas Center front office for two days.
Characters include: Frog (a happy-go-lucky frog), Toad (an anxious toad), two female birds who play several parts, and one male bird who plays several parts, including the solo snail song.
The cast will include eight children who are enrolled in Grace McCune’s choral classes beginning Feb. 24 and Susan Babcock’s dance class in March (TBA).
