Slapin was born in Connecticut, moved to California, then Oregon, and has been an Orcas Island resident for 20 years.

The world of color, texture and nature have always been basic inspirations.

Slapin works in a variety of mediums, including printmaking, acrylic painting, mixed media, pastels and photography.

Her images are often introspective, expressive, contemplative, sensory and inspired by nature.
