The Wooden Boat Society of the San Juan Islands is holding the Twelfth Annual Wooden Boat Rendezvous from Sept. 2 to 4 in Deer Harbor.
The rendezvous takes place between the Victoria Classic Boat Festival and the Port Townsend Wooden Boat Festival. All wooden boats are welcome: oar, power and sail.
Monday, Sept. 2
Boats arrive on Monday, Sept. 2 (Labor Day) with a potluck on the dock Monday evening.
Tuesday, Sept. 3
Sailing regatta: breakfast will be held at 8 a.m. (location to be announced), followed by a meeting for race participants at 9 a.m. The regatta will begin in the late morning, wind permitting, and will take boats through the islands and Wasp Passage.
There will be a paddling and rowing race late Tuesday afternoon, following the sailboat regatta.
Everyone is welcome at the evening barbecue from 4 to 8 p.m. The menu includes locally caught salmon, local organic produce and homebrew beer. As always there will be live music and good humor.
Wednesday, Sept. 4
A sailing dinghy race will be held in the morning.
