The San Juan County Sheriff’s Office responded to the following calls.

Sept. 25

• A Lopez Island deputy took a report regarding a citizen dispute.

• A deputy was dispatched to a report of a theft in Friday Harbor. This is related to an ongoing case.

• A deputy took a report regarding fraudulent charges on a credit card. Person(s) unknown had accessed credit card information and purchased several items online.

• A San Juan deputy stopped a vehicle for driving left of center. The driver was arrested for driving under the influence. Citations were issued for driving left of center and having expired registration.

• A deputy on San Juan stopped a vehicle for having expired tabs. The driver was issued a citation for having expired vehicle registration more than two months.

Sept. 26

• An Orcas deputy responded to a theft call in Eastsound. The suspect was identified on camera. The case is still ongoing.

• San Juan deputies arrested two subjects, one on a felony warrant and the other on a no-contact order violation, rendering criminal assistance and unlawful harboring of a minor.

• A deputy responded to a Lopez property for an abandoned trailer complaint. The owner of the trailer, who left it on his neighbor’s property without permission, was identified. The property owner stated they would speak with their neighbor about removing the trailer.

• A San Juan deputy stopped a vehicle for having modified exhaust and an obstructed license plate. The driver was issued citations for both.

Sept. 27

• An Orcas deputy responded to a report of unauthorized persons on a property who were harassing a female. Upon further investigation, it is believed the female was suffering from hallucinations due to drugs or mental issues. The subject did not appear to present a danger to herself or others.

• A Lopez resident requested assistance claiming property that had been abandoned. A report was completed.

• A San Juan deputy issued a driver a citation for not having proof of liability insurance and a warning for speeding.

• A deputy on Orcas conducted a traffic stop. The driver was given a warning for speeding.

• A deputy on Orcas conducted a traffic stop. The driver was issued a citation for speeding 52 miles per hour in a 35-mile-per-hour zone.

Sept. 28

• A deputy on San Juan stopped a vehicle for having an obstructed license plate. The driver was issued a citation for not having insurance.

• A deputy on San Juan responded to a report of a hit and run. The incident was documented.

• A deputy on San Juan responded to a trespassing complaint. A trespass notice will be issued to the suspect.

• A deputy on Orcas conducted a traffic stop. The driver was given a warning for speeding.

• A deputy on Orcas conducted a traffic stop. The driver was given a warning for driving left of the centerline.

• A Lopez deputy investigated an assault complaint. Neither party wishes to pursue charges and the incident was documented in a report.

• A deputy on Orcas conducted a traffic stop. The driver was given a warning for having a defective taillight and expired registration.

• A deputy on Orcas conducted two traffic stops. Both drivers were given a warning for having a defective taillight.

Sept. 29

• A Lopez deputy was called regarding a beached powerboat in Shoal Bay. The owner was going to make arrangements to have the boat towed at high tide to safe moorage. The boat blew loose from a nearby mooring buoy during the windstorm onto the beach, apparently undamaged.

• San Juan deputies responded to an at large dog that had killed another dog. The animal was taken to APS and the owner was issued citations for allowing a dangerous dog to attack an animal and having a dog at large.

• A deputy on Orcas conducted a traffic stop. The driver was issued a notice of infraction for speeding 55 miles per hour in a 40-mile-per-hour zone.

• A deputy on Orcas contacted several bicyclists for causing a traffic hazard. The bicyclists received a warning for riding three abreast on Crow Valley Road.

• A Lopez deputy observed a sailboat had been blown aground in Fisherman Bay near the end of Tinkham Lane. The vessel owner was working to refloat and remove the boat to deeper water.

• A deputy on Orcas conducted a traffic stop. The driver was given a warning for speeding.

• San Juan deputies responded to a report of a domestic assault in the Roche Harbor area. A female subject was arrested for two counts of assault in the fourth-degree — domestic violence and booked into the San Juan County jail.

• A Lopez deputy was asked to check on a suspicious male at Odlin Park. No crime had occurred and the male was identified.

• A deputy on Orcas responded to a report of vandalism. The involved parties were contacted. It was determined that no crime had been committed.

• A deputy was contacted in reference to trespassing in the San Juan Island area. One person was issued a citation for criminal trespassing.

Sept. 30

• A Lopez deputy was sent on a report of a dog attacking a deer along Ferry Road. The animals were gone when the deputy arrived.

• A deputy was dispatched to a report of suspicious circumstances in Friday Harbor.

• A deputy on Orcas conducted a traffic stop. The driver was given a warning for driving with wheels off the roadway.

• A deputy on Orcas conducted a traffic stop. The driver was given a warning for having a defective headlight.

• A deputy on Orcas responded to a report of a person being held against her will. After further investigation, that claim was determined to be unfounded.

• A Friday Harbor deputy made a report in regard to an order violation by a subject in custody on another matter. The report was forwarded to the prosecutor’s office.

Oct. 1

• A deputy on Orcas conducted a traffic stop. The driver was issued a notice of infraction for speeding 59 miles per hour in a 35-mile-per hour zone.

• A deputy on Orcas responded to a report of an unsecured business. The business was checked and found to be unoccupied. There was no evidence of a crime having been committed.

• An Orcas deputy arrested a local man on multiple warrants. He later posted bail with a promise to appear.

• A Lopez deputy was sent to check for goats running at large on Center Road near the school. The goats were gone when the deputy arrived.

• A San Juan deputy stopped a bicycle in Friday Harbor for failing to stop at a stop sign and issued a citation. A warning was given for not having a front-mounted light.
