Clarinet! Horn! Bassoon! Double Bass! Return of the Montrose Trio! Kostov & Valkov! And of course, plenty of violins, violas, cellos and piano … Orcas Island Chamber Music Festival’s 24th Season is shaping up to be wonderful two-plus weeks of amazing music and musicians.

The festival is welcoming live audiences to every show, and the second night of each concert pair will be live-streamed.

Orcas Island Chamber Music Festival Founder and Artistic Director Aloysia Friedmann is excited to present this summer’s Festival concerts for live audiences again, after a year of high-quality live online events. World-class musicians from across the country are gathering again on Orcas Island to perform in five pairs of live, in-person concerts on Aug. 6 and 7, 10 and 11, 13 and 14, 17 and 18 and 20 and 21. The first night of each pair will be at 7:30 p.m. and the same repertoire will be repeated at 5:30 p.m. the next evening. Ticket sales for the live concerts are very limited to allow a safe distance between concertgoers in compliance with COVID-19 guidelines. All tickets are initially General Admission, and seating will be assigned close to performance dates in order to follow safety protocols at that time, allowing as many people as possible in the theater to experience the concerts. Masks will be required at all times inside the Orcas Center building. In-person concert tickets are $40 for adults and $10 for ages 6–18. Tickets are available starting Wednesday, June 23, at 10 a.m. at oicmf.org and orcascenter.org.

Building on the incredible success of the 2020 Season of live-streamed concerts, the intimacy of the Orcas Island Chamber Music Festival is coming directly to your home — or wherever you are — as it’s happening! The second of each concert pair, on Aug. 7, 11, 14, 18, and 21, will be broadcast live from the Orcas Center stage, starting at 5:30 p.m. Thanks to generous sponsorship by the OICMF Robert Henigson Board Designated Fund, all five of the Livestream Concerts are free. Tickets for the live stream concerts are available starting Aug. 23, at 10 a.m. at oicmf.org/tickets.

Orcas Island Chamber Music Festival will also travel to Lopez Island for a concert at Grace Episcopal Church on Sunday, Aug. 15, at 3 p.m. For more information about the August Festival, go to oicmf.org or contact the Festival at info@oicmf.org.
