Wolf Hollow to receive new roof

Submitted by Wolf Hollow.

Wolf Hollow Wildlife Rehabilitation Center announced on Feb. 2 that the much-needed new roof on the main building will be installed on Sunday, Feb. 7. While many are enjoying Super Bowl Sunday, Wolf Hollow will be having a Superb Owl Sunday.

Wolf Hollow has been fundraising to replace the leaky roof on their main building since 2019, and several organizations have generously given their support. The Lions Club of San Juan Island kicked things off with the first large donation. Orcas Island Community Foundation listed this need in the GiveOrcas Holiday Catalog 2019 and San Juan Island Community Foundation passed our request on to their donors. Just as the funding goal for this important project was reached, COVID-19 hit, then Wolf Hollow entered the busy animal care season when doing such large-scale work was not possible.

In the fall of 2020, Fly Guys Construction stepped forward to offer their labor for the project. Donations will pay for all the materials and Fly Guys employees will donate their time.

Sunday will be the perfect day for the work, with a good weather forecast and all wildlife patients located in other parts of the property. Wolf Hollow is deeply grateful to the community for all the support that has been provided to make this project possible.
